About Ana iS

Ana de la Vega and as she call her self to sign her paintings: Ana iS,  has always admired famous painters, specially the “Impressionists”. Her passion to be able to put on a canvas the beautiful sunsets she has seen all her life, in Acapulco, Ixtapa Zihuatanejo, Lake Conroe in Texas and now in Northern California has become a reality now that she is painting watercolors and acrylics.
She has been painting for more than 8 years in different media, landscapes, flowers, birds and more.
She is now a member of “California Artists” and also member of the California Watercolor Association. Her style is emerging as well as some of  her paintings have been recognized in the Silicon Valley Area, and in Mexico.

Since 2007 beautiful landscapes from Northern California inspired her to paint. After visiting museums around Europe, Mexico and since 2005 in San Francisco she decided she wanted to be an artist and paint the colors of the sky, mixing with the clouds, and she asked herself: What do I need to be able to paint? ,  maybe I  just need to buy the materials. She decided one day in the summer of 2007 she will start painting, The first landscape: “Here come the Sun”( Acrylic), that you can see in her collection took her 7 months to finished it, but she did it.

In the summer of 2008 she decided to start taking Watercolor classes, with a recognized watercolor artist: Ed Von Nordeck, and it was the moment when Ana iS was transformed and became an “Artist, Made in California”

a watercolor of the Cherry Blossoms.

She has been painting since then and has more than 150 watercolors, and has formed “The Vega’s Private Art Collection” with art works from other members of her family.

How was Ana transformed into a painter: Ana iS?
For many years Ana had been imagining what it would be like to become a painter, and “be able to put “In a CANVAS a BEAUTIFUL SUNSET”. One day in the year 2006, she decided she will buy a canvas and acrylics to see a sunset appear. She had been thinking: I do not paint just because I don’t have the materials. She did buy all the materials but the sunset did not appear easily, so she copied one “Monet” and then another one, after visiting on June 2006, the Monet’s Exhibition at the “Legion Of Honor Museum, in San Francisco. After the 2nd painting, “her version of the “Water Lilies” it was enough. She bought a bigger canvas and after 6 months of painting almost every day, the sunset finally was there.
She called this painting “Here comes the sun” and you can see it in this exposition.
Silicon Valley transformed this artist and she decided to take Watercolor classes with Ed von Nordeck
in San Jose, in the summer of 2008. After one year and a half she has been painting “watercolors” and is described as a fast painter. Painting has been like a therapy and a refuge for her that is surrounded by high tech. “Ana iS did not gave up on the idea of becoming a painter”
